| Proper SD Card Removal Procedures for Macs |

At Titley Scientific, we prioritize the right procedures for handling your equipment. When removing SD cards from your Mac, following correct steps is crucial for data integrity and device longevity. Here’s a straightforward guide for safely erasing and ejecting your SD card:

1. Open the SD Card in Finder:

Locate the SD card in Finder and open it in a new window. This step allows you to view and manage the contents of the SD card.

2. Drag Contents to Trash:

Within the SD card window, select all the contents and drag them to the Trash. This action moves the files to the Trash, preparing them for deletion.

3. Empty Trash:

To permanently delete the files from the SD card, empty the Trash. Right-click on the Trash icon and select “Empty Trash.”

4. Drag SD Card Icon to Trash to Eject:

Once the files are safely deleted, drag the SD card icon itself to the Trash. This action ejects the SD card from your Mac, ensuring it’s safe to remove physically.

Following these steps helps prevent data corruption and ensures a smooth ejection process. It’s a simple routine that contributes to the overall health of your SD cards and Mac. Remember, a little care in the office goes a long way in maintaining your field equipment.

At Titley Scientific, we prioritize providing not only cutting-edge technology but also guidance on proper usage.
